David Kam - Embodied Movement

This module explores the subtler ways of facilitating freedom and play in practice through specific yet open-ended guidance, using language that does not impose hierarchy or fixed binaries. We will explore the technicalities of sensuous cuing beyond alignment-based cues, drawing inspiration from our felt experience in relation to each other and the environment. Learn to transform the practice space into a braver space that encourages agency and invites choice through an embodied vocabulary that is both personal and inspirational.

This module is led by David Kam, a multidisciplinary artist, yoga teacher and community organiser exploring embodied practices of joy, freedom and connection from a queer lens. Movement for him is an expression of both party and protest, a medium for us to find home in our bodies and a springboard towards engaging in collective action and trans-generational healing.
