where yoga & community meet...
Here at Kindred we're all about community and family, and that starts with the founders, South East London based Katarina and Julian. Katarina, a full time yoga teacher and Julian studio manager and yoga teacher, have a desire to share their passion with others. Our teachers have been hand picked and are regarded as some of the best teachers in London. Our goal is to create an environment where people can feel at home whilst nurturing their practise.

Kat
I have been teaching yoga full time for over 10 years. As a physics graduate and trained actress, finding my way to teaching yoga wasn’t part of the plan but after attending a class in Shoreditch, East London ,which I then came to realise was a Rocket Yoga class, I wanted more. I travelled to India and explored other styles and teachings, I wanted to learn more, yoga became an integral part of my physical and mental wellbeing.
I returned to India a year later to complete my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Ashtanga Vinyasa (Rocket®) with The Yoga People, who themselves were taught by Larry Schultz the pioneer of Rocket® yoga. I immediately began teaching yoga full time and by 2017 had completed 500hrs of advanced Teacher Training with The Yoga People, in Ashtanga, Rocket®, Yin & Mandala Vinyasa. I continue to build my advanced teacher training hours as learning and growth as a teacher are extremely important to me. I have completed 50hrs of advanced adjusting and anatomy with Ambra Vallo, 150hrs of Rocket® with David Kyle and 50hrs of Pregnancy Yoga training with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.
My public teaching schedule consists of a mixture of Rocket®, Mandala Vinyasa & Dynamic Vinyasa in my public classes.
In 2016 I began hosting yoga retreats worldwide and now run around 7 per year.
My husband, Julian, and I co-founded Kindred Yoga in 2018, in Deptford Southeast London.
I am very proud of the Kindred School Of Yoga which I founded in 2020, I run the 200hr Vinyasa and 50hr Rocket® trainings with Helen Russell Clark and as a school we host multiple other trainings such as Pre/Post natal, Mandala Vinyasa and Assists & Adjustments.
I am a 500hr Yoga Alliance approved, Experienced - Registered Yoga Teacher. E-RYT 500.

After studying Dance as my BA, I’ve been continuing to develop my movement practice as a professional dancer in multiple styles.
I initially came to find yoga as a way to manage anxiety & found the benefits so transformative that I went on to do my 200hr Vinyasa Flow training with Kindred in 2021, I now teach yoga & have since also trained in Yin Yoga, soon to be Mandala qualified also!
I have a real passion for growth & deeper knowledge & consider myself an eternal student!
I love working as the studio manager at Kindred Yoga alongside Kat and Jules, who have built an incredible community filled with amazing people and classes.
Jules
Having played sports growing up and later working a 9 to 5 desk Job, Jules was persuaded by Kat to try out a yoga class to help with stress and injuries.
His initial assumptions about yoga consisted of tight lycra, heavy chanting and a series of long and arduous stretches in incense filled rooms. What he encountered in fact was bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities being put through their paces. During that first hour on the mat, taking his time to breathe and move, he left feeling calm, balanced and clearer in the mind. Jules returned to the mat many more times after that and continues to find yoga incredibly rewarding and challenging for both body and mind.
Now there is nothing he enjoys more than being able to welcome people into a space where they are able to practice freely and enjoy the same experiences he did.
