Escape to the serene and secluded Osea Island, a hidden gem on the East Coast of Essex. This private island, accessible only by a tidal causeway, offers a truly beautiful sanctuary for our March retreat! Rishin Paonaskar will host you for a weekend of yoga, nourishing food, rest & relaxation.
The yoga
Rishin Paonaskar
Rishin will lead you through daily yoga classes - Morning Vinyasa/ Restorative Yoga in the evening.
Vinyasa Flow is a playful practice that links movement with breath in one smooth continuous sequence. In this class you will be led from one pose to another through your inhale and exhale, creating heat inside the body and a stillness in the mind.
This restorative class will guide you slowly into more relaxed states, so that you are able to connect more deeply to your body's innate wisdom. The class will start and end with mindful meditation and during the practice your body will be supported by props (bolsters, blocks, blankets) allowing you to relax deeply as you hold poses for 5 minutes or more.
The yoga is open to all levels. .

Transport
While Osea Island feels like a world away, it is conveniently located just a short distance from London near the town of Maldon. Access to the island is via an ancient causeway, built by the Romans. At every low tide, for a period of 4 hours, cars can be driven across. At high tide, there’s a river taxi service from the mainland, the boat journey taking about 10 minutes. On the island, each location is a short stroll away, and there are bicycles for taking leisurely rides around the tracks and paths.
As we are accessed by a tidal causeway, it's best to call us for exact directions and advice on the timings of your journey. Please be aware, for crossing, use the Osea Island leisure park (CM9 4SA) for sat-nav.
Depart Liverpool Street station to Witham Station less than 50 minutes journey from the city. A taxi can take you onward to Osea. This must be pre-booked. Please email enquiries@oseaisland.co.uk (Monday to Friday office hours) to assist you with this.
Testimonial from a Kindred Yoga retreat
‘The yoga retreat has been one of my all time favourite holidays. The quality of both the yoga and the food was excellent! I have improved my yoga practice, my flexibility, and increased my general wellbeing after the retreat. They put so much effort and love into every single yoga session and every single meal. You can tell they are truly passionate about what they do. Everything was very well organised and ran so smoothly; just as I was beginning to feel peckish after brunch, a freshly made juice and healthy snack appeared from the kitchen. The atmosphere was relaxed, positive and friendly - I feel like I've made 14 new friends."
